A LETTER FROM DR. DAVID PORTOWICZ,
FOUNDER AND CHAIRMAN OF THE JAFFA INSTITUTE:

When the late Zonik Shaham and I founded The Jaffa Institute in 1982, we hoped to establish a professional organization that would lift the children of Jaffa out of the cycle of poverty and give them hope for a brighter future. The vast array of programs and facilities that today serve thousands of children from Jaffa, Bet Shemesh and other areas of Israel, is the fruit of the labors of our dedicated staff and our loyal supporters from all over the world.

As we continue to develop new programs to meet the ever-changing needs of the children of Israel, we also need to ensure that this viable and successful model will continue for future generations of children. By turning our eyes to the future and working towards financial security for The Jaffa Institute, we will make sure that our efforts will continue for many years to come.

We ask you, our loyal supporters as well as new friends, to join us in our vision for the future. Please consider including The Jaffa Institute in your estate plans through one of the many vehicles which will be beneficial to you and your families, as well as to the children of Israel.

- To benefit you and those that you love

- To benefit the children of Jaffa and all of Israel

Planned gifts do not happen overnight. The Jaffa Institute, since it was founded in 1982, has provided hope for a more productive and meaningful life to literally thousands of Israeli children from the streets of Jaffa, Bet Shemesh and all over Israel. With your help, the many varied activities of the Jaffa Institute will continue for future generations of Israeli children. By planning a gift now, you can receive significant financial benefits for yourself and your family, and at the same time guarantee that these severely disadvantaged children will not be left behind.

There are many methods for you to secure the future of the Jaffa Institute, while providing for yourself and your family:

I. WILLS AND BEQUESTS

Preparing a will is the way to ensure that your assets and capital are distributed as YOU WISH. A will is probably the most important document in your estate. If prepared professionally, it will speak on your behalf.

As part of your will, we ask you to consider making a bequest to the Jaffa Institute. This will demonstrate the depth of your commitment to the children of Israel.

We can provide you with a free "Will Kit" to help you prepare to meet with your attorney and make your meeting more productive.

II. CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITY (CGA)

Provides guaranteed annual income to you at a higher yield than many other alternatives. By establishing a CGA, you reduce your taxes now since a portion of the gift qualifies for a current income tax charitable deduction, while the full value of the gift is removed from your estate.

III. CHARITABLE REMAINDER TRUST

By creating a trust with highly appreciated assets, you can provide income for yourself and your family while avoiding capital gains tax. You designate a trustee - it could even be yourself - to administer the assets and pay income to the beneficiaries for the term of the trust, after which the remaining assets are transmitted to Jaffa Institute.

IV. RETIREMENT FUNDS AND IRA'S

By making the Jaffa Institute the beneficiary of the remainder in a specific retirement plan or IRA, you may be able to avoid significant income and estate taxes.

V. DEPOSIT AGREEMENTS

You can designate an existing or new account that will eventually benefit the Jaffa Institute. the account earns interest and you may withdraw principal or interest at any time. At the demise of the account owner, the balance of the account becomes a gift to the Jaffa Institute.

For more information about any of these instruments, contact Mr. Yechiel Marcus, our gift planning advisor, at   yechiel@jaffainst.co.il
or direct telephone: 972-54-4916217. He will be pleased to work with you or your financial planning advisors to create a vehicle that benefits you, as well as the Jaffa Institute.
