The Jaffa Institute's Welfare to Well Being initiative provides a comprehensive 'skills for work' training program for long-term unemployed Jaffa and south Tel Aviv women and is coupled with essential job experience in a real workplace- the Institute's Food Distribution Center. The initiative emphasizes the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and work values needed to find and keep gainful employment.

Project Goals
The goals of the project are to prepare local, long-term unemployed women for economic independence and to increase their economic self-sufficiency by gaining control over their financial situations. Certified telemarketing, receptionist, English language, and computer instructors coach the women toward success via group workshops, individual sessions, and on-the-job training in a rapidly expanding field in Israel (telemarketing). Over the course of one year, women will acquire:

1. Office and workplace skills.

2. Increased self-confidence and self-esteem by providing them with an opportunity to directly help their community (raising funds for the Food Distribution Center).

3. Direct work experience

4. Job counseling and placement assistance at the completion of the year-course.
