Shalom Portowitz

Director, Jaffa Institute’s Food Distribution Center

Following completion of a Degree in Advertising and Marketing, Shalom’s passion for the non-profit world and for education flourished when he founded a school for matriculation for the Haredi community called the Yitron School. For the past six years, he has worked as Director of Development for the Jaffa Institute’s Food Distribution Center and has led the development over the past three years of its Welfare to Well Being Program, an initiative which provides a comprehensive ‘skills for work’ training program for  long-term unemployed Jaffa and south Tel Aviv women.
