As Rosh Hashanah approaches, Jewish families will gather around the holiday table, dip apples in honey, share traditional blessings, and pray for a sweet, safe, and peaceful new year.

But for thousands of vulnerable families in Israel, putting a holiday meal on the table is an overwhelming challenge.

The Jaffa Institute is preparing 3,200 Rosh Hashanah food packages for Holocaust survivors, elderly people in need, single mothers, and struggling families who rely on us.

Each Holiday Package Provides:

Essential Food

Rice, pasta, canned goods, and other vital staples.

Holiday Traditions

Honey, grape juice, festive cake, and special foods for the Rosh Hashanah table.

Dignity and Security

Relief for families who would otherwise struggle to provide a holiday meal.

Hope for the New Year

The comfort of knowing that they have not been forgotten.

Despite working two shifts a day, Leah*’s income simply wasn't enough to cover rent and consistently feed her three children. The exhaustion was constant, but the worst stress was watching the pantry empty out days before her next paycheck. Getting on to The Jaffa Institute's Food Distribution Center list was a turning point. The twice-monthly box, filled with reliable staples like rice, pasta, canned goods and oil, was a pragmatic solution to an impossible problem. The program provided the necessary bridge between a meager wage and a nourished family, offering essential support, stability and nutritional security.
