After-school Educational Enrichment Centers

The Jaffa Institute operates 20 centers serving over 300 at-risk children aged 3–17 in Jaffa, South Tel Aviv, Bat Yam, and Yehud. These centers extend the school day, combining academic support, enrichment activities, and counseling. Each child receives a hot, nutritious meal—often their only full meal of the day.

Programming is holistic, fostering academic progress, social-emotional development, and resilience in the face of poverty and ongoing security challenges. Certified social workers and therapists provide individualized and group interventions using drama, art, and talk therapies to strengthen emotional regulation and social skills.

Seven centers specialize in serving children with developmental and emotional delays, maintaining small groups and high counselor-to-student ratios. Remedial teachers deliver structured programming tailored to complex needs. Parent-child therapy and counseling further reinforce positive relationships and parenting skills.

Impact: In 2025, the percentage of children demonstrating improved academic functioning rose by 16% over the course of the school year.
