Program Naming
Come As You Are Girls’ Club
Operating twice weekly in the evening, the Come As You Are Girls’ Club provides a supportive space for disadvantaged young women, primarily from the Ethiopian-Israeli community.
Guided by a multidisciplinary professional team, the program offers participants a hot meal alongside therapeutic support and tailored academic assistance through the Jaffa Institute’s Jump Start program. Within this welcoming environment, girls are encouraged to express themselves, build confidence, and develop the tools needed to navigate the challenges of adolescence.
Through open discussions and guided workshops, participants explore topics such as healthy relationships, personal boundaries, violence prevention, and confronting experiences of racism. The program’s approach emphasizes respect, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity, ensuring that activities reflect and honor the traditions and perspectives of the communities represented.
By balancing professional guidance with the voices of the girls themselves, the club fosters self-expression, resilience, and leadership, helping participants build the confidence to shape their futures.
