Welfare to Wellbeing Program
The Jaffa Institute’s Welfare to Wellbeing program helps chronically unemployed women develop the vocational skills, confidence, and emotional support needed to return to the workforce and achieve long-term financial independence.
Each year, approximately 60 women participate in five intensive training cycles, with each group receiving professional instruction, counseling, and employment preparation. Participants—many of them single mothers—come from diverse backgrounds including Ethiopian-Israeli communities, Arab communities, ultra-Orthodox and secular Jewish communities, and immigrants from the former Soviet Union.
The program operates in partnership with municipal welfare departments, immigrant support organizations, and the Prisoner Rehabilitation Authority, ensuring participants receive the resources and support necessary to maintain stable employment.
Impact: In 2025, 89% of participants secured stable employment following completion of the program.
