This Rosh Hashanah, 3,000 Families Need Our Help

Dear Friends,
There is a mother I think about often. We'll call her Leah.
She works two shifts a day, raising three children alone. Before she came to The Jaffa Institute, there were nights she watched the pantry empty while counting the days until her next paycheck.
She told us: "I can finally sleep at night knowing my children do not have to go to bed hungry."
Leah is one of 3,000 families who will turn to The Jaffa Institute this Rosh Hashanah for help putting food on the table — Holocaust survivors and elderly Israelis living on limited incomes, single mothers stretching every shekel, families working hard and still finding there isn't enough left at the end of the month.
For them, preparing a holiday meal is not a question of what to serve.
It is a question of whether there will be enough to serve at all.
This Rosh Hashanah, our Food Distribution Center is preparing 3,000 holiday packages filled with essential foods and the traditional items that make the holiday feel like Rosh Hashanah — including honey, grape juice, and festive cake.
$80 provides a complete Rosh Hashanah food package for one family.
Today, Leah receives a food box twice a month. That is what your gift can provide.
Yes, it is rice, pasta, oil, canned goods, honey, and cake.
But it is also a mother sleeping at night. An elderly person celebrating the holiday with dignity. Children sitting down to a Rosh Hashanah meal. A family beginning the new year with a little less worry and a little more hope
